Apple Nut Bread

This recipe for homemade apple nut bread is made with apples, sour cream, sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and chopped pecans.

Fill the house with the wonderful aroma of this fresh apple nut bread baking in the oven. Everyone in your household will be waiting for it to come out of the oven and cool down enough to eat.

Finely chopped pecans add a delicate nutty flavor to this quick bread. I personally like pecans better than walnuts, but you can use whatever you have around in the house. Just be sure your nuts are fresh.

Serve this either warm or cold for breakfast, lunch, a snack, or as part of a weekend brunch menu. If you are serving this warm, a bit of softened butter is all you need. If being served cold, try this cream cheese spread for a great taste combination.

YOUR APPLE NUT BREAD is just about ready to come out of MY OVEN! I AM so pleased to have found the recipe. Truly! You might like to edit it by saying how long it should cool in the pan+should it cool completely before slicing. All for the benefit of beginning bakers. When I was younger I found it extremely frustrating to take the time and effort, not to mention the money, to bake anything and then not be able to get it out of the pan! I’ve learned, but then I’m an old lady now! Ha!Ha!

    • Hi Bea,

Thank you for your comment. You are so correct that it should cool in the pan completely before slicing. It comes out so much better! It is hard to wait sometimes though. 🙂

Great recipe. I used 4T applesauce and 1T oil to cut calories. I used 1/2 cup sugar and thought it a good sweetness level. Great texture. Baked as muffins and they were done at 16 minutes. I like weighing fruit so I can replicate quantity next time. Grated apples weighed 6.5 ounces. W Wonderful flavor and very easy
