Easy Yogurt Fruit Dip Recipe

A fast and easy yogurt fruit dip recipe made with vanilla yogurt and sweetened with brown sugar and cinnamon. Serve this fruit dip with sliced apples, strawberries, grapes or any of your favorite fresh fruits.

Just about everyone will like this recipe for fruit dip! For those of you who are short on time or are lacking ideas for what to bring to a gathering or office pig out; just buy a variety of your favorite in-season fresh fruits and make this dip. You will have an instant dish to pass in no time.

I did think this recipe turned out tasty. Originally I made this recipe with traditional vanilla yogurt, but you could definitely substitute a more popular Greek yogurt for additional protein. You may need to adjust the brown sugar if you choose Greek yogurt, as it has a distinct tartness.

I know you can just put this in a plastic container for serving, but it will look so much prettier and become more appetizing if you find a nice dish for the fruit dip. This is a good time to dig out one of those vintage dishes hiding in the back of your cupboard and show it off. The plate and bowl in the photo is part of my Grandma’s china setting.

The acidic tartness and vanilla flavor of yogurt pair nicely with fruits such as grapes, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, kiwi fruit and most others. If you think the fruit you will serve is a bit on the tart side, just add an additional Tablespoon of brown sugar to the recipe. The recipe can easily be cut in half if you think it makes too much, but will keep well for 7-10 days in the refrigerator.

An additional note on the brown sugar:  If you have lumps in your brown sugar; make sure you place it in a separate bowl and take the back of the spoon to break up any lumps first before adding the yogurt. Failing do that step it will make it difficult to get the lumps out of the dip once the cold yogurt gets added in.

A fruit platter is always a welcome addition to a brunch, or office lunch and this fruit dip recipe can be made in about 10 minutes or less.
