Homemade Dessert Waffles Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 cups of sweet milk
  • 2 eggs yolks and whites separated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 Tablespoons of melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron.
  • In a large bowl, sift together the 2 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 2 Tablespoons of sugar. Set the bowl aside.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the yolks only of 2 eggs and the vanilla until smooth and lemon colored. Whisk in 2 cups of milk.
  • Add the egg mixture to the bowl of flour. Beat together until the batter is smooth and free of lumps. Stir in the melted butter and mix well.
  • Using a separate large chilled bowl and beaters, beat the whites only of the 2 eggs until stiff peaks are formed.
  • Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the batter being careful not to overmix.
  • Bake them according to manufacturers directions in your electric waffle maker.
