Mix the granulated sugar and malt powder in a medium bowl with a whisk or hand mixer to make sure there are no lumps in the malt powder.
Stir in 1 cup whole milk and whisk until the sugar and malt powder is dissolved.
Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours.
When ready, pour the mixture into your ice cream maker freezer bowl, turn on machine and let mix for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Add your crushed chocolate sandwich cookies through the ingredient spout and mix for an additional 5 minutes.
Transfer to an air tight container and freeze for at least 2 hours. Garnish each serving with an extra chocolate sandwich cookie. Enjoy!
Notes
*To crush chocolate sandwich cookies, place the 12-14 cookies in a heavy plastic freezer bag and gently smash with the heel of your hand until pieces are somewhat uniform in size. I used Oreos in this recipe.*This recipe is meant for a 1-1/2 quart electric ice cream maker.
